Originally rebuilt in the mid-19th century by a prominent ‘Atlas Caid’, Le Jardin Secret served as a residence for notable figures in Marrakech and across Morocco. Its origins trace back to the Saadian era, and after extensive restoration, it was opened to the public in 2016.
Visitors are invited to explore the traditional Moroccan and Moorish palace design, with stunning central courtyards and beautifully curated gardens showcasing plants from around the world.
Created by the French painter Jacques Majorelle, the Majorelle Gardens feature over 3,000 exotic plants and reflect the inspiration of Islamic and Hispano-Moorish garden architecture.
The site also hosts the Berber Museum, where you can discover the richness of Berber culture and Moroccan heritage through a remarkable collection of antique artifacts and jewelry. Attracting more than 600,000 visitors annually, it is one of Marrakech’s must-see attractions.
El Bahia Palace is a spectacular 19th-century monument covering 8,000 m², designed by a Moroccan architect. This grand palace functions as a large riad centered around a lush garden and is situated in the southern part of the Medina, just steps from Jamaa El Fna Square.
The palace complex includes numerous apartments, reception rooms, a mosque, a Quranic school, a traditional hammam, and an Islamic garden adorned with olive trees, orange trees, and palms, offering a glimpse into the luxury of Morocco’s royal past.
